Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Group Number 1
Before completing the attached Rework Procedure, please review the safety actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the engine.
These were built with the new 390-0601 Core As and do not require an hardware update.
Connect to the engine ECM with Cat ET and flash witk the 459-7318 Software Gp.
Group Number 2
Before completing the attached Rework Procedure, please review the safety actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the engine.
Remove the existing oil cooler. Refer to the engines Disassembly and Assembly Manual UENR3257, "Engine Oil Cooler - Remove". Note: these engines have been ordered with the 342-0689 Preservation Gp which includes a cooling system fill with coolant from the factory for long term storage.
Install the new 390-0601 Core As. Refer to the engines Disassembly and Assembly Manual UENR3257, "Engine Oil Cooler - Install".
Apply touch up paint to match the engine as necessary.
Connect to the engine ECM with Cat ET and flash with the 459-7318 Software Gp.
