Start By:a. remove engine, transmission and transfer gearsb. separation of transmission from engine Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Put the transmission assembly in position on Tool (A).2. Disconnect six wire connectors (2) from the transmission control valve body. Disconnect wire harness (4).3. Remove seventeen hex head bolts (3) that hold the transmission control body to the transmission. Be sure that wire harness (5) is clear of any part of the transmission body. 4. Remove bolts (4), differential valve (5), and dump valve (6). 4. Remove plug (7) and remove the spool and the spring. 5. Remove two dowels (8), seal (9) and O-ring seal (10) from the dump valve. Inspect the seals for damage. 6. Remove rubber seal (11) from the back side of the dump valve. Inspect the seal for damage. 7. Turn over dump valve (6). Remove plugs (12) and (15). Inspect the O-ring seals on the plugs for damage. Remove spring (14) and valve spool (13) from the valve body.8. Remove plugs (16) and (23). Inspect the O-ring seals on the plugs for damage. Remove spring (22), piston (21), and valve spool (19) from the dump valve.9. Remove plug (18). Inspect the O-ring seal on the plug for damage. Remove screen plug (20) from valve spool (19).10. Remove plug (17). Inspect the O-ring seal on the plug for damage. 11. Remove socket head bolts (24) and (25) in order to separate manifold (27) from valve body (26). 12. Remove spacer plate (28) from manifold (27). 13. Remove seal (29) and inspect seal (29). Remove two dowels (27). 14. Turn over manifold (27) and remove seal (31).15. Remove retainer ring (32) and then remove flow valve (33). 16. Turn over valve body (26). Remove seal (34), retainer (35), and spring (36) from the bottom of valve body (26). 17. Remove plugs (45) and remove valve spools (46) and springs (38). Remove slugs (47) and slug (39).18. Remove plugs (44) and remove springs (43) and slugs (41). Remove selector valve spool (42) and valve spools (40) from the valve body.19. Remove solenoid valve assemblies (37) and (48) from the valve body. 20. If equipped, remove the ball, the seat, and spring assembly (53) from slug (39). Remove retainer ring (49),
