Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Do not allow any dirt or foreign material to get into the hydraulic system during assembly, connection of lines, when components are filled with fluid, or during any maintenance operation.

Before assembly, make hose #1 and hose #2. Refer to Table 2 and Table 3.

Install elbow (9) using O-ring seal (15) .
Install new O-ring seals (5), (6), and (17)
Attach hose #1 (B) as shown in Illustration 2 using O-ring seal (16) .

Connect hose #1 (B), with collet stem (7), to the filter base as shown using O-ring seal (12) .
Connect hose #2 (C), with collet stem (7), to the filter base as shown using O-ring seal (12) .
Install O-ring seals (18) and (19) .
Connect hose #2 (C), with collet stem (8), to the transmission as shown using O-ring seal (12) .

Secure hoses together using two clips (13), three hard washers (14), bolt (1) and full nut (10) at the location shown.

Secure hose #2 (C) using clip (13) and existing hardware (D) as shown.

Add hose guard (4) to hose #2 (C) between clips as shown in Illustration 2.
