the following steps when the switchgear is received:
Inspect the switchgear for any internal damage or external damage that may have occurred during shipping.
Ensure that all accessible electrical connections are properly tightened. If necessary, torque the connections again.
Ensure that all of the following items operate without binding: switches, circuit breakers and other operating mechanisms.
Ensure that all of the control relays are secured in the bases. Carefully push the relays onto the bases. Ensure that the clip that secures the relay is installed.
Verify that the spacing of electrical components has not been reduced due to damage during shipment or due to incorrect handling. If the spacing has been altered, make the necessary changes prior to energizing the bus.Note: Immediately repair any defects that were found during the inspection. This must be completed before the switchgear is energized.
