Inspect the ROPS for loose bolts or for damaged bolts. Replace any damaged bolts or missing bolts with original equipment parts only. Tighten the M20 bolts (1) to a torque of 460 60 N m (339 44 lb ft). Tighten the M16 bolts (2) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft). Note: Apply oil to all ROPS bolt threads before you install the bolts. Failure to apply oil to the bolt threads can result in improper bolt torque.
Operate the machine on a rough surface. Replace the ROPS mounting supports if the ROPS emits a noise. Replace the ROPS mounting supports if the ROPS rattles. Do not straighten the ROPS. Do not repair the ROPS by welding reinforcement plates to the ROPS.Consult your Cat dealer for repair of any cracks in the ROPS.
