When testing and adjusting the transmission and power train, move the machine to an area clear of obstructions, with safe exhaust ventilation for the exhausts. Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, do the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the transmission and power train.
When testing the pilot pressure with the covers removed from the transmission, hot oil can spray from the pressure control valve if the transmission is shifted from NEUTRAL. Hot oil can cause severe burns. Do not shift the transmission from NEUTRAL when the covers are not installed over the pressure control valve.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Pressure Control Valve (1) Pressure tap for pilot oil
Disconnect the wiring harness from both the downshift solenoid and the upshift solenoid.Note: Take the appropriate precautionary measures in order to make sure that no tooling is dropped into the transmission case.
Remove the solenoid guard and the large cover from the transmission case. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Remove" for the correct procedure to remove the cover.
Remove the plug from pressure tap (1) .
Install Tooling (D) in pressure tap (1).
For testing purposes, Tool (C) can be used in place of the original cover with Tool (B) attached.
Connect Tooling (A) to Tooling (D) .
Engage the parking brakes. Start and operate the engine at LOW IDLE rpm with the transmission in NEUTRAL.
The pressure on the gauge should be between 1725 70 kPa (250 10 psi).
Stop the engine before any adjustments are made.Results
