(24) "FLOAT" or "EQUALIZE" switch (FES) for low voltage switchgear
Illustration 4 g00867067
(25) "FLOAT" or "EQUALIZE" switch (FES) for medium voltage switchgearNote: In illustration 4, the "FUEL TRANSFER" switch will be replaced by a heater for the lubricating oil tank. This heater is standard equipment that is available only on gas engines.Alarm Control Switch (ACS) (12) - This switch acknowledges the alarm horn. The switch that performs the lamp test is a three-position switch. The ACS is spring loaded in order to return to the center position. The ACS tests all of the discrete alarm indicating lamps.Circuit Breaker Switch (CBS) (15) - This switch controls the generator circuit breaker. The CBS is a heavy-duty switch. The switch has a spring centering mechanism. The CBS has three positions: momentary trip, center and closed. The CBS has slip contacts for automatic closing. This switch may be locked in the "TRIP" position. The lock is enabled when the switch is pulled and the switch is turned to the tripped position.Engine Control switch (ECS) (10) - This is a rotary switch which maintains the set position. The ECS has four positions: "OFF RESET", "AUTOMATIC", "MANUAL START" and "COOLDOWN STOP". The "OFF RESET" position is for engine shutdown and resetting faults. The "AUTO" position is used for local automatic operation or remote automatic operation when the operation is initiated by switch operation or contact closure. The "MANUAL START" position is for local starting and manual paralleling. The "COOLDOWN STOP" position is used for initiating cooldown mode during manual operation.Emergency Stop Push Button (ESPB) (14) - The ESPB will cause the engine to shut down and the generator circuit breaker will be tripped. The ESPB does not allow the engine to start when the ESPB is depressed."FLOAT" or "EQUALIZE" Switch (FES) (24), or (25) - This switch adjusts the output of the voltage rectifier of the battery charger. This is done so that the battery can get an equalizing charge. In the "FLOAT" position, the battery charger will maintain a battery voltage that is constant. This voltage is maintained from no load up to 80% of the rated load capacity. In the "EQUALIZE" position, the charger and the rectifier will automatically hold the battery voltage at
